T/TH Holiday NOV/DEC Semester Homestead Morning Earthlings: An Earth Skills Farm & Forest School Enrichment Program
Supplementary "Earth Skills" program for children 5-7 with some age exceptions upon approval for 4-8 year olds. This is not a daycare, and this is not the same as a preschool, although most academics are covered. This is a half-day enrichment program focused on teaching timeless life skills in a human-nature connected way. Sometimes this looks like guided projects, other times this may look like following the children's lead & interests, or allowing free-time to connect with nature in the students' own unique way. It is required that families read over our Handbook to familiarize yourselves with our polilcies, expectations, and teaching styles & methods. Please follow this link to read our Earthlings "Field Guide" or Parent Handbook at the following link: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1zifzykyhbfhXKHKj3co5ZCQWd_YBjwUl/view?usp=sharing We will add more info as needed, or if anything changes and update you all.
This is a Monday-Friday Drop-Off Program for Ages 5-7. Few age exceptions will be made for 4 and 8 year-olds. We will prioritize current students who we are familiar with due to being able to know if they will be a good fit for the program. We will accept 8 full-week students. Each week will consist of a Gardening, Camp/Wilderness Skills, Practical Life Skills, Creativity, Farm Animals, Adventure, & Free-Choice opportunity. Monday-Friday Drop-off 8:30am-12:30pm

Some age exceptions welcome! Weekly Saturday survival skills classes at Haven farm.
This is a 100% outdoors, RAIN OR SHINE Drop-Off Class. Activities are always optional and never forced. This class is team-led. For example, if the group shows particular interest in art that week, we will redirect our focuses to art. If they are interested in survival shelters, we will focus on that, and so-on. We believe in taking opportunities to work WITH children rather than against them so that they develop their skills and interest in an organic way. This class is designed to specifically cater to ages 5-8 with room for older siblings, and older children that may not be ready for the older and advanced group. If your child is 8 or older and confident in nature, and drop-off courses, we recommend joining our more advanced wilderness scouts programs as they will likely provide more stimulation for them, and a stronger social experience. Please contact us if you are looking for another age group. If your child is 5, but you’re not sure about their hiking abilities, listening skills, nature confidence, or something alike, we recommend a trial class or drop-in class to see if it is a good fit prior to registering. Please contact us via email if that is something you would like to do, and please be transparent with us if your child may have any unique learning preferences, abilities, disabilities, or anything you may deem important to share with their teachers. In this course, you may learn about encountering wildlife, trail safety, dangerous plants, foraging, survival shelters, fire crafting, wild medicines, farm chores, motor skills development, emotional intelligence, exploring the senses, kindness and compassion, our native ecosystem, environmental conservation, practical and sustainable life skills, science, engineering, art, and more! Each class will vary as this age group does best with fluidity and opportunity for open play, and team building. We do our best to cater to your children and their needs and interests. We want them to truly have fun and create strong, positive associations within nature and build their nature confidence effectively.
!!!!Return/Cancellation Policy!!! Because our programs are by demand, all registrants must be confident that they can attend all class dates and weather-related make-up dates listed. Weather-related make-up dates are typically the next two weeks following the final class date listed. Make-up classes are not provided unless there has been a class cancellation from our end. This is solely because our classes are by demand. We hope that in the future, this will be a service we can provide. Please speak with your teacher to see if there’s room in other classes that you may be able to drop into. There are no exceptions for returns and cancellations because when you hold a spot, it takes away the opportunity for our school to get funds elsewhere, and it removes the opportunity for another family to register. Thank you for understanding. For extenuating circumstances, please contact us via email.
SCHOLARSHIPS: We have limited scholarship availability for each class. Please email us for more details. If you do not hear back from us in time, please try again, or try another form of contact such as via phone or socials. Sometimes emails get sent to spam or overlooked. We also have over 60 families that we serve and currently only 2 teachers who do all the jobs involved with running our organization. Please be patient with us, and don't give up if it takes us a while to get back to you. We do our best, but sometimes things get overwhelming.
Volunteers/Teachers/Job Opportunities: We are always in need of help. Please email us if you are interested with a clear subject stating your proposal as well as what you are interested in helping with or applying for. Thank you!
